Lot Description

**Dockyard of Wilhelmshaven Marked Model 1906 Navy Luger
World War I

9mm Para. 5.9" barrel length. SN: 784a. Blued metal finish with straw colored and nitre blued small parts mounting checkered walnut grip panels and featuring an adjustable rear sight graduated from 100 to 200 meters. Short recoil operated toggle-locked single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Item features the grip safety mechanism. Toggle link exhibits the DWM marking for Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken with the barrel extension having no date mark. Proofs include {Crown} stamps to the left barrel, breechblock, and barrel extension, and two {Crown/M} marks to barrel extension. Serial numbers match on most components, but the sideplate and left grip panel do not match. Backstrap cut for stock mounting, and is struck with inventory marking WW/6077, indicating it was issued from the Dockyard at Wilhelmshaven, and was one of the known property range 29-9978. Comes with a total of two aluminum base plug WWII vintage magazines, one numbered 794, and the other 4340. Comes with an unmarked leather flap holster with magazine pouch. Item further accompanied by a photocopy of bringback papers signed and dated August 31, 1944. {C&R}
