Lot Description

**L.C. Smith Trap Grade 12 Gauge Shotgun

12 Gauge. 30" barrel length. SN: RE98397. 2.75" chamber length. Full left. Modified right. Blued metal finish with casehardened frame mounting twin bead sights and a walnut semi-pistol grip stock with bordered checkering to wrist and forend, and a NOSHOC recoil pad. Double barrel sidelock ejector shotgun with full length matted barrel rib. Standard marks include L.C. SMITH marks to sideplates, T for Trap grade mark on watertables, and nitro proofs to flats. Right barrel displays the grade mark L.C. SMITH trap GRADE with the left struck HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M'F'R'S FULTON, N.Y., U.S.A. Frame is lightly engraved with scenes of trap hooters to the left sideplate enclosed with floral borders, and a hunter taking game birds to the right. Serial numbers match on watertables, barrel flats, and forend. Comes with a letter from the L.C. Smith Collectors Association signed by James Stubbendieck affirming that this shotgun left the factory with 30 inch barrels, ejectors, and a splinter forend. It was completed on December 17, 1927 and shipped out on June 4, 1928. Per the consignor, the safety was disengaged for use as target shotgun. {C&R}
