Starr Model 1858 Double Action Army Revolver
American Civil War
.44 caliber. 6" barrel. SN: 7239. Blued and color casehardened finish, smooth one-piece walnut grip. Double action percussion revolver with 6-chambered un-fluted cylinder, tip down barrel, hammer nose notch rear sight and dovetailed blade front sight. Lower left of frame marked STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK and lower right side marked STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15. 1856. Sub-inspection marks throughout. Marching serial numbers on lower front of frame, in hammer cut in upper frame and on cylinder. Grip with a clear script cartouche on each side, the JWK of arsenal sub-inspector John W Keene. {ANTIQUE}
