Colt 1851 Navy Revolver
American Civil War

.36 caliber. 7.5" octagonal barrel. SN: 176325 (mfg. ca. 1864). Blued and color casehardened finish, brass backstrap and large round triggerguard, varnished one-piece walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with six-chambered un-fluted cylinder, toggle link loading lever, hammer nose notch rear sight and brass cone front sight.. Top flat of barrel roll marked in a single line: - ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA -. Lower left of frame marked COLT'S/PATENT in two lines and the left rear web of the triggerguard is marked 36 CAL. Cylinder roll engraved with the usual Texas and Mexican Navy battle scene and marked COLT'S PATENT No followed by the last four digits of the serial number. All serial numbers match including the wedge, with the exception of the unnumbered loading lever and grip. {ANTIQUE}
