Group of Shell Casings Including WWI Trench Art
World War I
Lot includes a French 75mm shell that has been transformed into Trench Art to commemorate the climactic battles around Verdun. Tip of the shell has been cut down into four cloverleaf patterns, and one side decorated with an embossed shield design with a stippled ground enclosing the text VERDUN/1914-1918. Also included in this lot are an American 40mm Mk. 2 shell dated 1944, and an October 1912 dated German 7,5cm shell manufactured in Dusseldorf.
