Lot Description

Group of 5 M1 and M2 Helmet Liners
World War II to Korean War

Mixed lot of five high pressure composite helmet liners including three M2 paratrooper helmet liners. Notable examples include a Firestone M2 liner that has a hand painted name and service number painted on the interior reading Johnnie T. Sanders/R.A. 12403502. This liner lacks the chin cup but retains both A straps. and much of the original paint. A second repainted Westinghouse helmet liner features airborne {White Heart/Dash} marks painted to both flanks, with these marks hand painted with stencils atop the repainted finish. The third Paratrooper liner, and one of the M1 liners lack grommet holes and are post-war production. One M1 liner is painted with the motto of the US Army's Armor School, and 1st Armored Division decal.
