Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver
American Civil War
.44 caliber. 8" barrel. SN: 47292 (mfg. ca. 1862). Blued and color casehardened finish, brass triggerguard, smooth one-piece walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with six-chambered, unfluted rebated cylinder, three-screw frame cut for stock, hammer nose notch rear sight and German silver blade front sight. One line "New-York U.S. America" address on barrel, two-line "Colt's Patent" mark on frame. All visible serial numbers match, wedge mismatched. Cylinder with traces of scene, and weak markings. Weak martial sub-inspection marks on most parts and traces of cartouches on both sides of the grip.
