Externally unmarked flint lock with light floral engraving has an integral rounded and fenced, unbridled pan and a flat faceted swan neck cock. Lock remains in original flint and is marked KETLAND on the interior. It has matching mating marks are present on the lock plate, cock and frizzen. Breech marked M/1821 and P/PC. A classic example of a Brown Bess inspired New England dual purpose militia fowler from the early 1820s.
