Lot Description

Vintage Ralph Bone Model AT Arkansas Toothpick with Sheath

6" blade length. 11.5" overall with sheath and hilt. Straight double edged needle point dagger blade with brass guard featuring hidden tang construction, brass pommel, and brass and black synthetic spacers enclosing staghorn grips. Blade is struck BONE/LUBBOCK, TEX. enclosed with the {Bone} logo. Model mark to obverse reads AT/78.6, indicating this knife was produced after Bone sold his company. Comes with a leather scabbard with loop struck by similar Ralph Bone marking to interior loop with rear face struck with AT 6 model mark and JOHNSON'S LEATHER/CASSELBERRY, FLA. maker mark. Sheath includes a honing stone in pouch.

Ralph Bone began producing and selling knives from his Lubbock, Texas address in 1964, and continued to do so until 1970, when he sold his business and began working as an engraver for Smith & Wesson. Through the entirety of his career, Bone proved himself an able and dedicated artist, whose work remains prized by gun and edged weapon collectors alike.
