Lot Description

Remington New Model Pocket Factory Converted Nickel Revolver

.32RF. 3.5" octagonal barrel. SN: 23484. Nickel finish, fire blued hammer and trigger, smooth varnished two-piece grips. Single action factory alteration to cartridge of a percussion revolver with a five-chambered two-piece cylinder. Bottom of barrel and lower left of frame under grip with matching serial numbers, grips matching and numbered in pencil. Rear of cylinder numbered 4687 with the detachable rear cylinder face showing the same assembly number. Standard three-line barrel address and patent markings. About 25,000 of these pocket revolvers were produced by Remington circa 1865 to 1873, with many being altered to cartridge before ever leaving the factory and with the last production guns actually being produced as cartridge revolvers and never being percussion guns. A very nice example. {ANTIQUE}
