Carbine Bore English Flintlock Holster Pistol by W Arden
French & Indian War - American Revolution

20 Bore (.62). 8.75" three-stage swamped round barrel. NSN. Bright finish, German silver furniture, walnut stock with pinned barrel. Single shot smoothbore muzzleloading flintlock pistol with bolted lock, grotesque mask butt cap, raised carved moldings around the lock and tang and no sights. Lock in original flint with an integral rounded, fenced and bridled iron pan and swan neck cock. Lock lightly engraved and marked W AREDN under the pan. London gunmaker's proofs on the upper left of the breech, which is also engraved with a panoply of arms. German silver pipes secure an old wooden ramrod with a brass disc face. William Arden worked in London at Goodman's Yard, Minories circa 1762 (Blackmore). {ANTIQUE}
