Lot Description
Jimmy Lile "No Dot" Grey Ghost Style Bowie Knife with Sheath & Steel
6" clip point single edged blade with .5" choil, 1.17" wide at widest point. 10.5" in overall length, with a 4.5" hilt. 2.25" oval brass cross guard, 1" flared brass pommel cap. Oval cross section black Micarta grip with palm swell. This exact model has not been located in various sources regarding Lile's knives and appears to combine the blade form of his Grey Ghost knives with the hilt of his Arkansas toothpick style dagger. Reverse ricasso stamped LILE without a "dot" over the "I". Includes a Johnson Sheathery marked leather sheath with sharpening steel. A nearly identical pattern knife was offered for auction with a 9" blade and was noted to have been a "prototype" for the Rambo "First Blood" knife, but no provenance or evidence was offered.
