**US Military Marked Remington Model 11 "The Sportsman" Semi-Automatic Aerial Combat Training Shotgun
World War II

12 Gauge. 20" barrel length. SN: 473244. 2.75" chamber length. Cylinder Bore. Blued metal finish overall featuring polished bright bolt and lifter set in a walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting Remington marked synthetic buttplate. Long-recoil operated tube magazine fed semi-automatic shotgun mounting a front bead sight and a matted flat to the top of the receiver. Item shows standard make and model markings including THE/SPORTSMAN to the bolt, and two-line address and patent marks to the top of the barrel. Further marks include CYL marking to the left barrel indicating it is Cylinder bore. Receiver flanks exhibit the standard factory engraving typical of Military Marked Model 11 shotguns in earlier ranges. Top of the barrel and the left receiver exhibits correct U.S. {Ordnance Bomb} marking. Left stock displays the US Ordnance {Crossed Cannons} mark followed by the FJA initials of inspector Frank J. Atwood. Shotgun features the correct 20" barrel Sportsman models made for the American Military in World War II, and its serial number falls within the known first range block running from 455,000 to 500,000. {C&R}
