31.5" straight double-edged sword with two narrow, 15" long median fullers. Blade 1" wide at ricasso. 39.5" in overall length. 7" hilt with traditional Scottish pierced full basket guard lined with leather and red velvet. Grooved wood hilt with leather covered grip and eight wraps of twisted wire. Blade etched with floral, patriotic and martial themes. "Proved" disc in ricasso. Fringed tassel at pommel cap. Includes steel scabbard with two suspension rings. Likely late 19th or early 20th century.
