Overall length 34.75". 7" hilt with cast brass cross guard, shield shaped langets, and a Knight's Head Pommel with the helmet surmounted by a Spread-Winged Eagle. Reeded bone grip. Ricasso marked under the langet with an A.A. Schnitzler makers mark, placing the sword no earlier than about 1864, after the dissolution of S&K (Schnitzler & Kirschbaum). The sword is accompanied by a silvered brass scabbard with dual suspension rings near the throat.
