Showa Period Japanese Katana with Mei
World War II
28.7" Nagasa (Blade Length). 38.8" with Tsuka (Hilt) and Saya (Scabbard). Shinogi-Zukuri pattern blade with Toran style Hamon line and mounting Gold finished and Shakduo Habaki. Item features a Mei (Signature) to the Nakago (Tang) and on the iron Tsuba. The Nakago features triple Mekugi Pin ports. The Kogai Hitsu-Ana has been filled in with black finished Shakudo plug, and the Tsuba retains its deep browned finish with gold and black Shakudo lined ports and details. Tsuka has black grip tape enclosing rayskin Same. Both the Fuchi and Kashira are black finished Shakudo decorated with gold dragons among black clouds over a Nanako ground. Comes with a black painted wood saya with nonferrous metal loop. The loop mounts a brown and blue WWII Japanese Army style sword knot.
