Lot Description
World War I Bavarian and World War II German Swords
World War I, World War II
1) 34" blade length. 40.3" overall with scabbard and hilt. Alexander Coppel Ordnance sword with slightly curved single edge blade and brass hilt with wire wrapped synthetic grips. Ricasso is stamped ALEXANDER COPPEL/SOLINGEN surrounding the {Scales} logo. Both sides of the guard struck with {Eagle/82} waffenamt marks with serial number 2979 and AC/G. Scabbard serial number matches guard.
2) 33" blade length. 39.5" overall with scabbard and hilt. Bavarian Officer's Pallasch with straight single edged double fullered blade with spearpoint tip and mounting a brass hilt with knuckle bow. Blade is etched with the Bavarian motto IN/TREUE/FEST to both sides of the blade enclosed by oak leaves and acorns. Hilt cast with a rampant lion design to both obverse langet, a shield to the reverse, and oak leaves over the backstrap and guard. Shagreen grip is wire wrapped.
