33.5" curved single edged blade with a 25.25" stopped median fuller. Blade 1.5" wide at ricasso. Overall length 38.75" with a 5.375" hilt. Bird's head grip with silver knuckle bow, guard and backstrap. Backstrap chased with foliate themes. Guard with langets, plain on the reverse and chased with foliated oak themes on the obverse. Forward swept flat disc upper quillon. Grip of checkered bone. Blade decorated with blued finish and gilt highlights with foliate and martial themes, with the reverse decorated with patriotic themes an American flag and the letters US of A. Silver mounted leather scabbard with engraved mounts decorated with foliate engraving. Suspension ring on middle mount only. Upper mount slotted for the langets.
