Lot Description

[Ambrotypes] Pair of Occupational Ambrotypes

Pair of occupational ambrotypes.

The first is a vibrant quarter-plate English occupational ambrotype of a blacksmith and/or farrier. This sharp portrait shows him holding a horseshoe that was freshly forged, with a drawing knife in his other hand that would be used to trim the horse's foot. The image is housed in a gorgeous full leather case.

The second plate is a sixth-plate ambrotype of a man with some type of wood working tools. While his exact profession is uncertain, he is holding a long handled scraping tool that could be used for floors or possibly ships as well as an unusual shaped putty knife.

This is a multi-item lot, so special packing fees apply. See the shipping terms for details.
