Hand-colored map of the of Virginia and Florida by Jodocus Hondius, first published in 1606 in Mercator's Atlas sive Cosmographicae. Hondius's map was drawn using two important source maps, those by John White and Jacque le Moyne, and became the prototype for maps of the region in the first half of the 17th century.
