[Children's & Illustrated] Thurber, James. My Life and Hard Times and The Owl in the Attic


London: Blue Ribbon Books, (ca. 1937). 8vo. xviii, (ii), 153, (1), xvi, 151 pp. Presentation copy, inscribed by Thurber on front free endpaper to his London gallery director Eardley Knollys ("drawn for Eardley Knollys / Sept 22, 1937, as ever James Thurber"), and with an original full-page drawing by Thurber of a sleeping dog and two people on same. Publisher's red cloth, stamped in black, spine faded, scattered soiling; without dust-jacket. From the library of William S. Reese.

Presentation copy, inscribed by Thurber and with two original drawings by him, for Eardley Knollys. Knollys, along with Frank Coombs, operated the prestigious Storran Gallery in London, from 1936-39. Thurber had a one-man show of his drawings at Storran, in 1937-38.
