Later half tan calf, marbled boards, red and green lettering-pieces gilt. Provenance: Robert J. Hayhurst (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Connecting Forbes' observations in Norway with his previous studies in Switzerland and the Savoy. Forbes, a self-taught scientist, geologist, and glaciologist, had been a colleague of Louis Agassiz in 1841. Neate F44; Perret 1708.
