2 volumes, royal 8vo (256 x 150 mm). Engraved hand-colored folding map, 12 hand-colored aquatint plates; half-titles, errata slip, advertisements. (Minor offsetting and spotting, slightly dust-stained.) Publisher's drab boards, uncut and largely unopened (rebacked, endpapers renewed, corners worn). FIRST EDITION. LARGE-PAPER COPY IN ORIGINAL BOARDS. The Scottish missionary John Campbell made two tours of South Africa, the first in 1815 (see previous lot) and this second tour of 1822. Abbey Travel 328.
