Contemporary crushed levant, sides with wide foliate border gilt, spine gilt, wide turn-ins gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, stamp-signed by Birdsall (spine slightly sunned, a few small scuffs). Provenance: Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Ranjitsinhji Vibhaji, G.B.E. K.C.S.I. (1872-1933), ruler of the Indian state of Nawanagar, noted cricketer (bookplate, signature). Later edition.
