A Chippendale Mahogany Tall Case Clock
WORKS BY GAWEN BROWN, BOSTON, LATE 18TH CENTURY
the shaped cornice carved to show foliate scrolls in relief flanked by two spherical finials above the brass dial with a silvered chapter ring having Roman numeral hours and Arabic numeral minutes, further set with a seconds dial and date aperture, signed Brown/ Boston, the straight trunk fitted with a door, raised on a plinth base.
Height 93 1/2 x width 20 3/4 x depth 10 1/2 inches.
