Oxford: Printed at the Theatre, 1722.8vo, rebound in 3/4 crushed green morocco over marbled boards, gilt-stamped and -lettered spine, t.e.g. First edition in English, with list of subscribers at rear. Oppian lived in the reign of Marcus Aurelius and was a favorite of the Roman Emperor because of his skill in poetry. Halieuticks, a poem on fishing, is dedicated to Marcus Aurelius.
