Lot Description

A group of sixteen Chinese Export porcelain tablewares from the "Grierson Service," possibly made for the English or Scottish market, late 18th century

All decorated with armorial crest in the form of navette-form reserve surrounding black and orange shield, surmounted by lock and motto, "Hoc Securior," with polychrome enamel and gilt floral borders, comprising two octagonal serving platters, a serving bowl, three plates, three soup plates, a sauceboat and stand, a reticulated plate, a small covered sauce tureen, and a salt cellar, bearing accession numbers, 79.500.7-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, and labels with old Winfield Foundation accession numbers.
