Lot Description
English School late 18th / early 19th century, A group of three portrait miniatures of young men
Comprising an officer in red uniform, housed in gilt pendant case, the verso with cobalt blue enameled border surrounding aperture containing mourning plaque depicting a mourner next to graveside memorial, inscribed, "H:B/ Obt. 6 Novr./ 1785/ Age 63," and banner inscribed, "Thou Shall Rise Again in Full Glory"; a boy in red, probably Irish, circa 1790, housed in gilt pendant case with hairwork border, the verso with woven hairwork; and a man wearing black coat, early 19th century, housed in gilt pendant case, the verso with hairwork sprays against gilt-decorated background; all watercolor.
