Housed under half of a ca 1870s-1880s-style red-ruled paper mat. Provenance: Cowan's 9-10 June 2005 Historic Americana Auction, Lot 1158. -- 7 tintypes showing cowboys and other rough-and-tumble characters seated in studio settings. The subjects wear wide-brimmed hats in varying styles, and at least three of the men wear tall leather boots. One of the subjects is shown with his head cocked to the side while smoking a pipe.
