With printed caption and Eisenhower's facsimile signature with date in lower margin: "President Abraham Lincoln / From A Photograph / By Alexander Gardner / Taken November 15, 1863."; "By Dwight D. Eisenhower / Christmas 1953." 16 1/4 x 12 1/2 in. (including margins), framed, 18 1/2 x 14 1/2 in. Reverse side of frame features TLS addressed to General Meloy, signed by Dwight Eisenhower ("Dwight Eisenhower") as President. White House, Washington, DC, 6 January 1954. Eisenhower thanks Meloy for the hospitality he showed during a Christmas party, and notes that he is also enclosing a print after his painting by Lincoln (which is included here).
