(Plate with some oxidation residue and light tarnishing to edges, few spots and imperfections, heavy oxidation to mat; original seals.) Housed in a leatherette case made by William Shew (surface wear/loss, discoloration), with a scrap of paper behind image inscribed "Frances Manning." -- Seated portrait of a young lady wearing an intricate lace collar and gloves, resting her arm on the table next to her which also supports a stack of three books, one of which appears to be Barrett's Grammar.
