A Pair of Chinese Turquoise and Glass Inset Bronze Beast Mask Harness Ornaments, Late Western Zhou Dynasty-Warring States Period
西周晚期-戰國 青銅嵌松石饕餮紋马饰一對
Western Zhou Dynasty-Warring States Period (885 BC-221 BC)

Each of the stylized feline or bovine masks with brows, and "horns" inlaid with turquoise; the backs are cast with a horizontal mounting bar.

參見1990年河南三门峡市虢国墓地一号墓出土的一套金带饰中的三件,出土时位于腰部,应是腰带上的装饰件;山西天马曲村遗址北赵晋侯墓地也有类似兽面饰出土,同样是腰带饰的组成部分;陕西韩城梁带村芮国墓地北区属西周晚期的M508出土18件兽面纹铜饰,其中9件有连接双角尖的横梁,另外9件则无。春秋时期,这种形制的兽面饰在芮国被大量制作,金铜都常见,2005-2006年,陕西韩城梁带村遗址春秋早期的“中”字形芮公大墓M27出土91件铜饰,均为正面隆起饰浅浮雕兽首,背面内凹,中部设一扁长条横梁。由于是与众多的衔镳、铃、节约、络饰等一起出土,所以當爲車马飾。
