U.S. Springfield Model 1888 Trapdoor Rifle
Indian Wars
.45-70. 32.25" barrel. SN: 516817. Blued and color casehardened finish, walnut stock. Single shot breechloading military rifle. Standard Springfield markings on lock and breech block. Weak SWP/1891 cartouche on reverse wrist and {Circle-P} behind triggerguard. Low arch breech, one-piece triggerguard, grooved trigger with checkered tip, two-click tumbler, Buffington rear sight, musket front sight with pinned blade, ramrod bayonet, trap in butt for tools which are not present. Retains both sling swivels and the stacking swivel. Includes an incorrect pattern reproduction sling.
