**U.S. Springfield M1 Garand, 1944 Barrel, Uncut Operating Rod, Locking Bar Sights, Import Marked
World War II
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 3375506. Parkerized metal finish set in walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting locking bar rear aperture and front blade sights with protectors. Long stroke piston driven semi-autojmatic rifle with rotating bolt and fed by an internal box magazine charged by en-bloc clips. Receiver is marked U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY. Barrel is marked SA 12 44, indicating that was made in December, 1944, and shows a punch dot and P pressure proof. Wrist struck with circle P mark while the left wrist shows a post-war Department of Defense marking. Left receiver is electropenned with importer mark reading CENTURY ARMS INC./ST. ALBANS VT. Underside of the toe struck with a rack number of 27. Item features an uncut operating rod.
