Lot Description
Swiss Model 1899 Pattern Saber
33.75" blade length. 41.25" overall with scabbard and hilt. Slightly curved single edged blade with spearpoint tip featuring single 25" fuller to each side of the blade, and mounting a pierced steel cup hilt with shagreen wrapped grips. Sword is marked on the right ricasso with {Swiss Cross}/WESTER & CO/SOLINGEN with the left marked EISENHAUER. Cup hilt is lightly engraved with floral embellishments enclosing a {Swiss Cross} over the knuckle bow. Backstrap features a horizontally serrated thumb rest. Scabbard is bright steel with brass hangers, and no visible maker marks.
