Item features two piece triggerguard with integrated sling loop, and stacking loops to the upper barrel band. Lockplate is marked {US Army Eagle} followed by US/SPRINGFIELD. Mounts a high arch breechblock struck MODEL1873/{Eagle Head}/US. Left barrel markings read V/P/{Eagle's head}. Buttplate is marked US, and both barrel bands are struck U. Action is the three click type, and the firing pin is spring loaded. Stock has been sanded and shows no remaining cartouches.
