Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver
American Civil War
.44 Cal. 8" barrel length. SN: 6098. (Mfg. ca 1861) Gray cleaned finish overall mounting brass triggerguard, one piece walnut grips, and German Silver front blade and hammer rear notch sights. Single-action six-shot percussion revolver featuring a loading lever to the frame. Barrel marked with a single-line address reading -ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-. Left frame shows the COLT'S/PATENT marking, while the cylinder displays Ormsby's roll engraved scene. Serial numbers match on major parts, but the wedge has been replaced. Frame features an iron backstrap and has been cut for mounting the stock.
