Lot Description
19th Century Full Stock Percussion Altered Pennsylvania Rifle
.45 Cal. 39.75" barrel length. SN: NSN. Deep brown patina overall with brass fittings to full length maple stock with straight wrist and cheek rest to left stock. Single shot percussion converted rifle with fixed rear notch and front blade sights on an octagonal to round barrel. No visible maker mark to the barrel. Lock displays two line border engraving to the lockplate with wheat chaff engraving to the hammer and forward of the hammer. Percussion drum does not fit flush with the lock, suggesting the rifle was converted from flint to percussion. Excessive curvature to the hammer suggests it may have been modified from a flint cock.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
