A Signed Edo Period Japanese Yanagi-Ba Yanone (Arrowhead)
2.625" yanone, 9" overall. Double edge willow leaf (yanagi-ba) yanone that is chiseled with cherry blossom design. Yanone is signed with two character mei to one side. Mei possibly translates to Fushi or Kyu Fujiwara.
The yanagi-ba type of yanone is said to have first appeared during the Momoyama period (1573-1615), and was used throughout most of the Edo period.
