Lot Description
**Spanish Civil War Imperial Russian 1917 Dated Mosin-Nagant Rifle
7.62x54mmR. 31.5" barrel length. SN: 47350. Blued metal finish with polished bolt set in a varnished birchwood stock with escutcheons to the sling cuts and Konavolov pattern rear ladder and front blade sights. Bolt-action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Barrel shank shows the {Imperial Russian Eagle} above the markings of the Russian Sestoresk Arsenal where it was made, and a date of production of 1917. Rifle shows scattered inspection stamps to major parts. Serial numbers do not match. Upper receiver flat is marked U.R.R.S., an export marking typically seen on Mosin Nagant rifles exported as aid to Spain during the Spanish Civil War. Left receiver further marked MADE IN/USSR applied before export to the United States. Tang struck with a boxed M marking.
