Lot Description
**Canadian Broad Arrow Marked Eddystone U.S. Model of 1917, Dated November 1917
World War I, World War II
.30-06. 26" barrel length. SN: 121005. Blued metal finish with full length walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting adjustable ladder rear aperture and front blade sights with protectors. Bolt-action repeating rifle fed by an internal magazine and featuring a cock-on-close action. Receiver is marked U.S./MODEL OF 1917/EDDYSTONE. Item additionally shows the American {Ordnance Bomb} to the left receiver and {Eagle/48} inspection stamp to the left ejection port. Barrel marked E/{Ordnance Bomb}/11-17, indicating it was made at Eddystone in November, 1917. Right receiver is struck with the Canadian {Arrow within C} broad arrow marking, with a similar mark struck into the right butt, indicating it served with the Canadian military in World War II. Right butt is struck with unit markings GGFG/223 with struck markings near the butt. Bolt serial number does not match receiver. Comes with unmarked Canadian style leather sling. Importer mark to barrel reads CAI ST ALB VT/CAL 30/06.
