World War I, World War II
7.92x57mm. 23.62" barrel length. SN: 3568n. Blued metal refinish overall with polished butt set in a walnut semi-pistol grip stock with full length upper handguard and without stock disc. Bolt-action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips and featuring the distinctive full length upper handguard, turned down bolt handle, and stacking rod typical of the Kar 98AZ (later renamed Kar 98a) model. Receiver shows the {Crown/ERFURT/1918} marking indicating it was made by Erfurt in 1918, with a further date of 1920 struck above this indicating the rifle was retained as the property of post-World War I Germany. Left receiver is struck with the Imperial German {Reichsadler} mark with the right displaying triple {Crown/Gothic Letter} inspection stamps. A second Reichsadler appears on the bolt handle. Receiver ring additionally marked with a 7,92 bore gauge marking. Further Gothic Letter inspection stamps appear on the follower, rear sight, sight spring, barrel bands, magazine floorplate, bolt right butt, and bayonet lug. Serial number to the toe has been struck. Top of the buttplate displays unit marking L.P./47. Serial numbers do not match on the bolt components or receiver, with stock mark indicating the rifle was Arsenal rebuilt at some point. Comes with a German pattern leather sling.
