PATENTED AUGUST 21. 1894. with left barrel flat near receiver marked -NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER followed by 32 W.S. caliber marking. Rear sight is marked on left side SMOKELESS 50 & 100 YDS/32 W.S. M'94 with the interior leaf marked MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./PAT. OCT. 8. 1901.
