Short recoil operated toggle-action striker fired autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Toggle link is marked DWM, while the barrel extension, barrel, and left frame each show the {Crown/N} commercial proof marking. Last two digits of the serial number appear on major components, but the grip panels do not match. Comes with a nickel plated magazine with aluminum base plug struck with the caliber marking 765. Safety marking reads GESICHERT, but the loaded chamber indicator is stamped with the Cyrillic letters corresponding to Zaryad, the loaded marking applied to Russian contract lugers. This latter marking likely resulted from assembling the pistol from older contract parts from the factory.
