Comprising a smaller pair from the Xianfeng period (1851-1861), a larger pair from the Guangxu period (1875-1908). Each is made for a civil official of the fifth rank. The bird is shown facing the sun as it alights on a rock amongst foaming waves, reserved on a gold ground embellished with clusters of clouds and auspicious symbols.
