Short-recoil operated striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Toggle link is struck with the byf marking indicating it was manufactured by Mauser with the date on the barrel extension of 41 for 1941. Barrel gauge reading struck below serial number of 8,83. Left frame is struck with the model marking P.08 followed by yellowing fill to the GESICHERT marking below the safety lever. The {Eagle/655} Waffenamt stamp is struck on the right side of the barrel extension in two places, and in one spot on the left barrel. The {WWII German Test Eagle} stamp is struck into the right barrel, right barrel extension, and into the left side of the breechblock. Extractor is struck with the correct GELADEN marking as part of the loaded-chamber indicator. Matching serial numbers to all parts except magazines which feature aluminum base plugs with one blued body and one chrome plated body. Grip panels are hard plastic without air bubbles to the interior with left panel showing some possible flaking around the cut for the magazine spring. Left panel has a threaded hole to the upper portion of grip with the right panel featuring a threaded hole near the base. Comes with a WWII pattern leather holster with a weak Waffenamt stamp and production marking sta/41 indicating it was made by A. Waldhausen of Koln. The holster is struck with the small P.08 model marking and contains the disassembly tool struck with the {Eagle/655} waffenamt.
