Lot Description
Lot of 3 Swords Including: British 1796 Pattern Spadroon and Two 19th Century Persian Cossack Sabers
Lot of Three Swords including a British 1796 Pattern Spadroon with leather scabbard and gold inlaid design to the blade, and two 19th Century Persian Cossack Sabers.
1.) Spadroon shows a 31" blade length and 39" overall length with scabbard and hilt. British sword comes with its leather scabbard and shows a weak maker marking forward of the left ricasso.
2-3.) The latter swords feature etched designs with Farsi writing to the blades and ricassos, along with Persian numerals to one metal scabbard's throat. Blades measure 33" to 35" in length with overall lengths ranging from 39.25" to 41". Shorter sword features a brass hilt with engraved floral designs, a leather and wire wrapped grip, and scabbard with brass throat. The longer Persian saber features similar etchings to the blade with a nickel plated hilt and scabbard.
