Lot Description
Lot of 2 Ethnographic Swords Including: Nepalese Kora and Chinese Jian
Lot includes:
1.) Nepalese Kora - 20" blade, 25" overall. Single edge forward curving blade with a widened tip. Blade appears to be chiseled with religious and regional motifs. Hilt appears to be of talwar style and possibly had gold koftgari at some point.
2.) Jian-style Sword - 32" blade. 41" overall. Double edged spear tip blade etched to both sides with what appears to be engravings depicting figures, dragons, and text that is possibly Korean. Fittings are made of brass and are also engraved with similar motifs. Grip is made of bone panels and is engraved with details that appear to be religious figures.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
