Pen and ink wash drawing, 8.75 x 11.75 in. (sight), framed to 13 x 17 in. Signed lower right, n.d. An intimate depiction of President Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln seated together.
Lloyd Ostendorf (American, 1921-2000), noted Lincoln historian and commercial artist of Dayton, Ohio, published five important books on Lincoln including Lincoln in Photographs (1963), a compilation of every known image of the sixteenth president. His obituary in the Chicago Tribune described him as "the definitive cataloger of Lincoln."
