Uniformly bound in full black buckram-covered beveled-edged boards, stamped in gilt, spine of second volume faded (seemingly as usual), boards lightly soiled and worn; all edges gilt; very short closed tear in lower fore-edge of pp. 395-(424) in first volume; very short tear in upper stub of maps in first and second volumes; small stain in bottom corner, p 323 in third volume; in Pauline Baynes-designed illustrated slip case.
